This is a rare plugin that offers a direct database search/ replace during conversion. I use this plugin during build to convert legacy images into webP and then switch to Cimo for conversion during upload. The plugin is to be treated with care. Full backups of the uploads folder and database should be taken first; and tested on Staging. Thank you for building this, it's been a great help. ![](https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/a299cf0eda34ddb3cfee009b60dcecf4dcdfe1662bdc29c08c27bc2c51343bfe? s=60&d=retro&r=g) ### 󠀁[Essential / Must-have plugin](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/essential-must-have-plugin-2/)󠁿 [freelancesgroup](https://profiles.wordpress.org/freelancesgroup/) Julai 30, 2026 An essential plugin. We can't delete media files without disabling the plugin first. The support log show no answer for more than a month and the last update was 3 months ago. I can be wrong but I presume this plugin is dead. Shame, I liked this plugin. And I suspect that one 5 star rating was not a real rating. ![](https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/652af40b04716a9ea9c1e3d2a068a93c44cdbe5216506ab0af29950bc96e4a6c? s=60&d=retro&r=g) ### 󠀁[Top-Notch Plugin for Media Library WebP Image Conversion](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/top-notch-plugin-for-media-library-webp-image-conversion/)󠁿 [Wilson Santana](https://profiles.wordpress.org/oliveira7/) Ogóst 8, 2025 English Review This plugin delivers everything it promises and more. It efficiently converts images directly in the Media Library, including all thumbnails, which is a major plus for performance optimization. The converted WebP images used on the site do not break or cause display issues, ensuring a smooth user experience. The conversion process is seamless and integrates well with WordPress, making image management hassle-free. If you're aiming to speed up your site and reduce image load times, this plugin is definitely a solid choice. That's strange given that compression is not a resource-intensive task. This plugin brings back the true spirit of WordPress. It's simple, intuitive, and free for everyone. It's so good, I even made a video for this plugin.
